What is All Together Now?
ATN is a celebration of the return of live theatre across the world. Organised by MTI, one of the main licensing companies for musical theatre, this musical concert curates the finest in musical theatre songs to be performed by community theatre groups across the world on the same weekend - 13th November 2021 whether live or streamed. The aim is to allow communities to come together and celebrate musical theatre, to fundraise for their groups and LYT Productions is delighted to be organising this event in Largs, a town rich in amateur theatre talent young and old.
When and where is it?
We are in final discussions with Largs venues regarding appropriate COVID Protocols and the exact performance dates and times are to be finalised, but it will take place on Saturday 13th November, or Sunday 14th November, or both, hopefully in our home theatre Barrfields.
What is involved?
This production is an approx. 1 hr musical concert curated by MTI, and we are looking for adults age 18+ (see eligibility below) to come together and form an ensemble, with the opportunity for solos, duets and much more.
Who are the creative team?
Our Creative Director Laura Edison, and our Musical Director Sian Campbell will be at the helm of this production and look forward to working with you.
Will the music be played live?
Absolutely! Musicians have been out of work for so long, and as much as performers and crew should be back, a musical concert of this nature would not be worth its salt if it did not have an orchestra and we plan to have a glorious 12 piece orchestra, conducted by Sian.
When are rehearsals?
Rehearsals will be based around availability of those cast, within weekday evenings and potentially weekend days as and when required. To adhere to our Covid measures, we will have a call sheet so you will only be called to rehearsal for short time periods and when absolutely needed.
When and where are the auditions?
Auditions take place on Monday 6th September from 7.30pm - 10pm at Clark Memorial Church Hall, Largs.
What will happen at the auditions?
We want to give everyone a chance to come back together and just enjoy a good old sing song! We will run some vocal and body warm ups, tell you more about the event, join together in a fun warm up ensemble song (based on You'll Be Back from Hamilton), and then we will allow those who wish to be considered for solos and duets to sing solo. We'll have refreshments and we're sure it will be a really fun night for all.
Do I have to prepare anything for the auditions?
If you are looking to be considered for a solo or duet slot in the show, we will need to hear you sing solo at the auditions. Please come prepared to sing a few bars of your favourite musical theatre song. Don't worry about sheet music, Sian will be able to bring that up and she's ready to accompany you. The piano will accompany you, you do not need to bring tracks. We would really hope to hear some of these songs in particular, if you would like some suggestions:
Pure Imagination (Charlie and Chocolate Factory), She used to be mine (Waitress), Astonishing (Little Women), Stop the World (Come from away), any song from Rent, Wouldn't it be Loverly (My Fair Lady), Middle of a moment (James and the Giant Peach), This is the the moment (Jekyll and Hyde), Beautiful City (Godspell), Empty Chairs (Les Miserables).
For our warm up you might want to get familiar with the tune of You'll Be Back from Hamilton.
Will it be a big cast?
Unfortunately we will be restricted due to Covid rules in terms of our overall cast size so not all those who audition may be able to be cast (if we could we'd have everyone!!). The cast will also include some children from LYT's Vocal Pops ensemble.
Who is eligible to audition?
We really want this event to be for the performers, and crews of groups who have been hit hard by the pandemic, and those who have been associated with local groups who want to come together with their friends and peers to celebrate live theatre returning. We therefore ask that those auditioning:
- are age 18 or over
- have been involved onstage, backstage, or front of house, with (a) the Largs Youth Theatre as a part of the Oliver production OR (b) the Largs Players' pantomimes Snow Queen, Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast OR (c) the Largs Operatic productions of Fiddler on the Roof or Sister Act, or LAOS Voices.
At auditions we ask that you:

- Consent to your temperature being recorded on arrival;
- Complete our test and trace questions on arrival;
- Wear a face covering upon entering the building, and at all times unless singing, eating or drinking;
